Sapoara
About us
Family-owned Sapoara’s wood roasting grill has been providing East Harlem with innovative Latin American cuisine, with a side of love for the community, since 2017. From classic recipes to new-age kitchen adventures, each dish reflects our passion for high-quality food presented in a simple yet pleasing manner.
Sapoara is a Latin American restaurant in East Harlem, New York. Co-owned by wife and husband team Giselle and Jeff Malave, Sapoara’s participation in WCK’s Restaurants For The People program has them cooking and delivering delicious food to several housing complexes as well as Living Redemption Youth Opportunity Hub, a community-based initiative for local youth. Community is at the center of what Sapoara does. On Father’s Day this year, they had Sandy Perez, an artist and friend, create a mural on the outside of the restaurant. The piece includes the faces of Giselle, Jeff, their daughters, and dozens of people from the neighborhood.
